SYNOPSIS
In the summer of 2004, Li Wake, a guy doing performance art, hurries to Nanyang from Beijing to help the painter Wang Yongping shoot his first film which was about their own story. Their performance made the entire film looked like a reenactment of their previous lives. During this period, while chatting about art, Li got very close with poet“Monster Beibei”and painter Ding Defu.
“Monster Beibei” has just been selected as “genius poet” through public appraisal on internet, while in real life, he is a janitor. He invited Li to join him on an “unknown pleasure journey” to visit some poets outside Beijing ,during intervals of the filming.

Ding seldom paints now; instead, he got entangled with the affairs of his family, school and lover. This time he plays the role of himself. Sometimes he can’t tell from his part in the film to his real world.

When Li has spare time he does some performance art, some of which are girls’ feet being decorated and wrapped in a piece of graveclothes, some are his standing upside down naked among the crowd. He said that those work expressed his feeling of survival which is “dull”.
Lacking of funds and chaotic management cause discontinuous shooting.Wang Yongping feels very anxious…Those people continued their journey of “Dream Walking” in this sweltering summer.
