CIDFA018:

Mom
Directors: Xie Lina
Length: 85min
Production Year: 2007

Synopsis:
Searching for truth in the forgotten. One’s emotions are often concealed for the sake of convenience or to avoid superficial sadness, but I hope to put my emotions outside myself, in “public”.
Mom is my first long documentary film. For many years, my mom worked hard to raise me and provide all I needed, and I always wanted to make a documentary film about her. Before I entered college, my mom and I were never separated. We lived together in an old house, in a wet room, and slept in the same bed. Mom’s wedding picture had been damaged, and I always wanted to fix it. And when she danced for me for the first time, I saw confidence in her steps. Why film her? Everyone has one mother. I think it is enough.
